Deposits with Stripe
Take a % deposit the moment the customer accepts. Money lands in your own Stripe account, not ours.
How it works
- You connect your Stripe account via Stripe Connect (Standard).
- You set a deposit percentage (0–100%).
- When a customer accepts a quote, they're redirected to Stripe Checkout.
- They pay the deposit directly into your Stripe balance.
Setup
Go to Settings → Deposits. Click Connect Stripe and complete Stripe's onboarding — takes about 5 minutes.
Once connected, use the slider to set your deposit percentage. Set it to 0 to disable deposits without disconnecting Stripe.
Fees
- Stripe's standard payment processing fees apply (typically 1.5% + 20p for UK cards).
- Quote Nudge takes a 2% platform fee on each deposit to cover our costs.
- No fee on quotes that don't collect a deposit.
Refunds
Refunds are handled directly in your Stripe dashboard. Search for the customer's payment and refund from there — Quote Nudge doesn't hold the funds.
When the deposit fails
The quote is still marked ACCEPTED in Xero — deposit collection is a separate step. You'll see the deposit status on the customer's row in the Quotes list.
